Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
Observation:
I absolutely love Kartchering. I love the fact that as you use the high pressure hose you can see the dirt disappearing. We have heaps of red soil around our home, so our concrete is very red. It always reminds me of this verse as I Kartcher because the Kartcher is like Jesus, washing away the sin in my life and making it white as snow.
The interesting thing when I Kartcher is that some areas clean beautifully, and some seem to have a permanent red soil stain. This is just like our sin, we may be washed clean through the blood of Jesus, but a reminder of the consequences of our sin is still a part of our lives.
The funny thing about my Kartcher addiction is that we don’t even own a Kartcher. I borrow my Dad’s. This is like grace, we don’t deserve forgiveness, but through our Heavenly Father we are freely given it.
Application:
God’s forgiveness completely removes our sin and guilt, leaving us “white as snow”–innocent in God’s eye of any wrongdoing.
Just like my addiction to Kartchering and watching the dirt disappear so do I need to ensure I remain as pure as I can.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you that even though my sins are like scarlet, you wash me clean – white as snow. Thank you for dying on the cross – so I may experience your grace in my life. I surrender everything in my life to you and thank you that you change and mold me every day.
